About Back In The Summer

“Back In The Summer” marks the debut release from Antwerp-based songwriter and producer Quasi Kili. After a decade of crafting music without releasing any, Kili now brings the story of a summer when he still lived near an airport. The summers of the past grow in our minds as seas of freedom and opportunity. This feeling is captured in the intricate layers of sound which convey the beauty of opportunity and sunshine, and mix them with the melancholy of days gone by and missed opportunities.

Live

A live performance of Back In The Summer is a mesmerising and soothing trip where the song is built from the ground up. Quasi Kili uses an Ableton Push by himself making it an intimate setting. The audience gets to experience the elements one by one until they form the complete memory that Back In The Summer represents.

Lyrics

Gotta run now
Cuz I always do
Gotta run now
And I always knew
It’s your house
Tell me where to stay
Don’t wanna walk home
I’m staying late
Another drink now
Another holiday
Another lifetime
Only a mile away
Back in the summer
When we ran all night
And we slept right through the day
Back in the summer
When we talked all night
It was always worth the wait
It’s all done now
That’s we do
It’s all gone now
And I never knew
It was our house
But we didn’t stay
I never walked home
I just walked away
Another drink now
Another drinking day
Another lifetime
Only a mile away
Back in the summer
When we ran all night
And we slept right through the day
Back in the summer
When we talked all night
It was always worth the wait
Back in the summer
Back in the summer
Back in the summer
Back in the summer
Back in the summer
Back in the summer
